Dynamics 365 – The Power to Edit Cash Discount Date is Here!

The information detailed in this blog has been available since last year yet worth mentioning for the inquiring minds in the Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations community. New with the release 8.1, the vendor and customer transactions can be edited for due date and discount date when setting a simple parameter.

Dynamics AX Support Service

Accounts Payable

The parameter to enable the ability to edit the due date and discount date on a vendor transaction is found by navigating to Accounts payable > Setup > Accounts payable parameters, and then to the Settlement tab.

accounts payable parameters

When the parameter is activated, the Due date field is added to the Vendor transaction grid (Accounts payable > Vendors > All vendors > Vendor > Transactions > Transactions).  This column was not included previously.

In addition, the Due date field becomes a link.  By clicking the due date for a particular transaction, a form is presented that allows the update to the date fields.

due date discount date

By updating the Terms of payment and/or Cash discount, the Cash discount dates will automatically update.  The Cash discount dates can be updated without changing the Terms or discount.

Close the form to see the update to the due date reflected in the transaction grid.

The parameter to enable the ability to edit the due date and discount date on a customer transaction is found by navigating to Accounts receivable > Setup > Accounts receivable parameters.  On the Settlement tab, is a parameter labeled Show due date and allow edit, just like the AP parameters.

After activating the parameter and navigating to the customer transactions (Accounts receivable > All customers > Customer > Transactions > Transactions), the Due date column becomes part of the grid and selectable as described earlier in the Accounts Payable transactions grid.
